Do you stuggle with feelings of guilt? When we come to God and ask His forgiveness we "are" forgiven. But sometimes in our own minds we judge ourselves and have feelings of guilt. Sometimes we tell ourselves how can He really forgive "me"? And, we let these feelings get in our way, but there is good news. When we ask forgiveness- we "are" forgiven.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us ours sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
He not only forgives, He cleanses us.
"For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." Hebrews 8:12
Not only does He forgive us, He then forgets our sins. I think sometimes that is hard for us because we are used to people here saying they forgive us for something, but they are always bringing it up. God does not do that- He forgives and forgets.
"I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins." Isaiah 43:25
"As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:12
"...thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness..." Nehemiah 9:17
