I think most of us have been lonely sometime in our lives and some much more than others. Some may have felt this way all their lives. There is someone that is there for us- all of us and, will never leave us or forsake us.
In Hebrews 13:5 God tells us this "...I will never leave you nor forsake you." That means a lot to me.
I know some people think that God sent His Son to condemn the world, but John 3:16 & 17 tells us that He sent Him to save us not condemn us and to give us a very special gift- everlasting life. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." He wants us to be saved- all of us. Now put that with the verse above and we know that God loves us, wants us saved and will never leave us. Now that is great news!
God tells us that when we are scared He will hold our hand and help us. He is there for us. Isaiah 41:13 "For I the Lord Thy God will hold thy right hand saying unto you fear not I will help you."
The Bible often refers to Jesus as a shepherd or the Good Shepherd and to us as sheep. The shepherd did everything for his sheep- he did everything to take care of them. Jesus (the Good Shepherd) even gave His life for us- His sheep. John 10:11 "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep." What greater love is there?
Because it means so much to me, I will say it again. What greater love is there? He gave his life for us. Not only that, he calls us "friends". John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends." We don't need to feel lonely- Jesus is our friend. We couldn't have a better friend than Jesus!
God loved us from the beginning. He loved us before we even knew about Him. He has always loved us. 1 John 4:19 'We love Him because He first loved us."
God loves us so much that He calls us His children. 1John 3:1 "Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!..." We are His children and He is our Heavenly Father. And, in the verse above (John 15:13) that Jesus is also our friend. So we are friends and family! It can't be any better.
Did you know that He even knows how many hairs are on our heads? And, as you know that changes daily. He loves us so much that it is important to Him to know everything about us. Matthew 10:30 "But the very hairs of your head are all numbered."
God is there and will help us. Psalm 121:2 "My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth."
