His Amazing Love

The Bully

We have some really cute kitties and we really love having our little kitties. They are a lot of fun to watch. We also like the fact that cats are good at  keeping the critters away from the house. Or at least they are suppose to. When we first got them our son came in and said you need to have a talk with your kitties, they are out there eating with a squirrel! Sure enough the next day I was watching out the back window and there was a squirrel eating out of their food bowl! And the kitties were just watching him. I wanted to yell out the window- hey, you're suppose to chase him away not let him eat your food! Don't you know you are hanging around with the wrong crowd! Not only was he eating out of their bowl he was hogging it- every time one of the kitties would try and eat, the squirrel would tip the bowl toward him so they couldn't get any. One of the kitties finally got tired of it and actually climbed into the bowl to eat. It didn't bother the squirrel, he just kept right on eating.
Then one of the other kitties came up to eat and the squirrel smacked him on the head! I was in shock, the squirrel was a bully! And, you know what? It worked the kittie left and stopped trying to eat! Hopefully when the kittens are bigger things will change and they won't be intimidated by the squirrels.   :)  Right now they are pretty close to the same size as the squirrel.
Most of us can probably remember back to our childhood and having a bully in our lives. I know I can. And, I also know it was not any fun at all. And, sometimes even as adults there may be bullies or other adults that boss us around or intimidate us. Still not any fun and can leave bad feelings inside us. There are also times when we have things or situations in our lives that can become like bullies to us- they create feelings inside us that aren't good and can even scare us. We can feel overwhelmed. But, we have a friend, a loving God that is there for us and we can give the problems to Him and He will be with us and take care of us and the problem. 1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for You"  Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." He is our help and shelter. Psalm 9: 9-10 "The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee; for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee." Psalm 91:15 "He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him, and honour him."
I know that in my own experience I sometimes let my trouble be a bully to me, then I have to stop and remind myself of something very important- God is there for me I don't have to do this or anything by myself. He is waiting there to help me.

As you go through the day today remember you have a friend, someone who is there for you and will help you through anything you may be going through. You are not alone! If your life feels like a storm- go to your friend and Saviour- our loving God- our help and shelter.
